Monthly Rating or Hating (September)

Hey Girls and Guys and welcome back to my blog!! Thanks for staying with me whilst I’ve been gone.

Today I thought I would do a monthly favourites style blogpost in a Rating or Hating format. I will try to get round to doing these posts once a month to keep you up to date with new products I have purchased or just good old fashioned holy grails.

Let’s jump straight in to what I’ve been Rating this September shall we. Now the first thing for me is an unusual one as I used to adore changing my nail varnish twice a week a would quite happily spend hours convincing myself that I did in fact need another shade of slightly different pink. However in my current job I am not allowed to wear nail varnish ūüė¶ but I recently spied these two shades of¬†Barry M¬†Polish and could not resist.

Barry M Gelly nail paint in Coconut and Almond

They have an amazing consistency and look colour perfect in just two coats. The lighter shade of the two (coconut) is such a lovely colour for a tan but is also beautiful for the recent white nail trend as it is slightly off stark white and has a beautiful shimmer to it. Meanwhile Almond (the darker shade) is just the perfect nudey, mushroom shade. Love it!!!! These are available from both Superdrug and boots for £3.99 each and are totally worth picking up if you ask me.

Onto my next Rating product. I am sure that by now all you make up hoarders like me have heard all the hype around the¬†Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet¬†‘s¬†and can I just say I am sold. What a wonderfully easy product to use. No lipliner required no gloss or brushes needed just straight out the tube with the doe footed applicator onto the lips. For me personally the “24 hour wear” isn’t really something that I feel the product has but that may be just me!! However that is not a deal breaker as the colour payoff on this product is phenomenal and I find it wears off evenly. I have got two of these so far but my Rating one for this month goes to the shade Nude-ist.¬†For me it is bang on trend for the current 90’s lip that everyone including me is loving. I am struggling to wear anything else on my lips as this is just my go to right now.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist

You can pick up some of the colours from the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet range for £8.99 from Boots.

The final product I have been Rating this month is The Body Shop – Ginger Anti- Dandruff Shampoo.¬†Now on the website The body shop claim “This refreshing shampoo with ginger extract is perfect for dry scalps and is cleansing and refreshing”. I have a very awkward hair type where my hair gets greasy quickly but I also have a very dry flaky scalp. This is where this shampoo has been my lifesaver!! It has cleared up my dandruff without causing that horrible build up that you get with products such as head and shoulders which causes your hair to be greasy. And the smell is a lovely addition to. You can pick this product up online or instore at The Body Shop for ¬£4.50 for 250ml or ¬£6.50 for 400ml.¬†

Onto my Hating’s for September. I know I am late to the party on this one but I have had this product a while and just cannot get on with it. It is the¬†Rimmel Apocalips Lip¬†Lacquer¬†¬†I have mine in shade Eclipse which is a gorgeous deep red shade but whenever I go to use it I just can’t get it to work for me. I find it’s either too thick or too thin so goes on patchy and it takes so long to dry.It also really dries my lips out which is just not fun.

I have however seen loads of posts of people who love it so let me know down below how you’ve found it and how you use it.

My payday Boots haul

Hi girls and guys and welcome back! Due to my lack of posts recently this is going to be a nice long one for you all ūüėÄ

So Friday was payday for me and much like you other fashion and beauty addicts out there payday means only one thing…SHOPPING!!! (feel free to squeal this in a white chicks fashion or is that just me). Luckily for me I work over the road from a massive Boots which is able to cater to all my beauty whims and wishes. I did go a bit crazy but it is worth pointing out that there were quite a few 3 for 2 and get stuff free with 2 purchases going on.

SAM_1894

¬† So firstly I purchased two things from soap and glory, their Thick and Fast High definition collagen coat mascara and their Kick ass concealer. I have recently been loving soap and glory make up so wanted to expand my collection. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the concealer yet as I think the colour may be too light for me right now however I do love that it has the cream and powder in one handy pot so it will be great for travelling. As for the mascara as you can see from above I ended up going home with a ridiculous amount of mascaras (2 were free I swear) but it is all for a good cause as I am on the hunt for my one holy grail mascara as I have the most ridiculously straight eyelashes and I cannot find a mascara that keeps them curled. If you have a holy grail mascara or any tips for super curled gorgeous lashes please let me know below. I have used the Thick and fast mascara once and found that it gave me super black lashes and lengthened but could not stand the test of gravity over the day (damn and blast).

¬† Next up was Rimmel where I picked up their Exaggerate full colour lip liner in 063 Eastend Snob¬†I actually bought this based on American youtuber Nicole Guerriero’s recommendation and was pleasantly surprised that we actually sell it in England (can I get a woop woop). It has a super creamy consistency and a handy pointed end to make it easy to line and fill lips with. The colour is a lovely darkish dusky pink and I like wearing it alone all over my lips.

I then hit up Bourjois and could not resist buying another one of their Rouge Edition Velvets in 05 Ole Flamingo! It is a lovely deep pink shade that I think will be a great alternative to the standard berry lips for autumn and these are just the most amazing consistency ever. I also bought a Barry M Eyeshadow pencil in No.5 which is a lovely dark brown with slight gold shimmer and is so creamy that you can wear it as an eyeliner or all over shadow colour.

¬† Lastly i got¬†Seventeen phwoarr Paint in Fair which i’m still undecided on how I feel about so I will let you know in a later post.

Swatched from left to right: Soap and Glory Kick ass concealer (comes with 2 concealer shades), Seventeen Phwoarr Paint in Fair, Barry M Eyeshadow Pencil in no.5, Rimmel exaggerate lip pencil in 063 Eastend Snob and Bourjois Rouge Edition in 05 Ole Flamingo!

¬† I will do a separate post on all the mascaras I bought once i have given them a thorough test drive. Until then if you have any questions or products you would like me to test out or do looks with just let me know down below. I always look forward to hearing your views, Also don’t forget to look me up on Instagram and Twitter @stephie_warner

Benefit Gimme Brow!

Welcome back girls and guys. I hope you enioyed the first installment of my blog?

I am back to talk to you today about the ever so hyped up Benefit Gimme Brow I personally own the shade medium/deep but it is also available in light/medium for those of you out there with lighter eyebrows.

image

So Benefit claim that this product is: “water resistant, long wearing, natural looking and buildable.” And I totally agree!! Gimme Brow is such an easy product to use even for those of you out there of haven’t mastered the art of brows yet.

All you need to do with this product is “using short pressing motions stroke the brush tip along brow to define shape. Comb through to blend and builf brows.” It really is that easy, the super cute tiny ickle brush (pictured above) makes it quick aswell even for those of you out there with thin brows.

I use Gimme Brow in 2 ways. Firstly I use it on days when I am wearing less make up by applying one to two coats on my natural brow or on nights out when I have applied either my smashbox powder or soap and glory brow archery pencil (let me know if you want reviews on either of those in the comments :D) I will use Gimme Brow to set/add extra colour.

Picture above shows one eyebrow bare and one with two coats of Gimme Brow nothing else. Ps don’t mind my dodgy selfie!

Overall I love this product. It is so easy to use even for a make up newbie. It is a bit pricey coming in at £17.50 at Boots and of course Benefit directly but it is totally worth it and will certainly be something I will re purchase again again. I already have my friends hooked too!!

Thanks for taking the time out to read my post and welcome back to any of you who were here before. Don’t forget to leave me any comments below and also check me out on instagram and twitter @stephie_warner

Hello! And product review

Hello all and welcome to my first ever blog post !!!
Firstly let me introduce myself, my name is Stephanie and I am a self proclaimed make up hoarder/lover. I love doing make up on myself and have dabbled in make up on others a few times, but lets save that for another day shall we?

I am planning for this blog to be about a few different things, mainly make up and beauty reviews with a few hauls and “What I’m lovings” thrown in for good measure. Please feel free to comment below with what you like or dislike about my blog and what you would like to see too.

Now lets get started with my very first review. I am going to keep it quick and honest as I know a lot of you will have used this product before but I am absolutely LOVING the wonderful Batiste dry shampoo- a hint of colour medium & brunette.

image

It claims to be “perfect to use between washes. A quick burst revitalises hair and removes any excess grease. Hair feels gorgeously clean and fresh with added body and texture” and it is AAMMMAZZEEBBALLLSSSS!!

The amount of times this product has saved my beauty life is too many to count. It is great for adding texture to freshly washed hair aswell as being my early morning I need more sleep and don’t want to wash and blow dry my hair saviour #lazyinthemorning

This particular version of Batiste dry shampoo is slowly becoming more available and can be found in boots for £3.99.

Overall I would confidently recommend this product to anyone with dark hair looking for a non talc effect dry shampoo.

I hope you have enjoyed my first ever blog post and don’t forget to leave me any comments or feedback below, also check me out on instagram and twitter @stephie_warner
